Gari Melchers Home & Studio is a unique and enriching destination for all ages.

The Rappahannock Fall Line: An Intersection

We invite you to attend this free, public symposium that explores the ecological, historical, and cultural significance of the Rappahannock River’s Fall Line, by examining its role in shaping both the region’s natural environment and human history.

Field Trips

Youth groups are welcome at Gari Melchers Home & Studio!  The museum offers unique experiences for all kinds of groups and ages.  Art clubs, gifted programs, classrooms, home schoolers, and summer camps are encouraged to consider spending a morning or afternoon of learning, creativity, and fun at Belmont.

Preschool Palette

These thoughtfully curated classes celebrate the experience of discovery.  Preschool Palette nurtures your child’s creative spirit through engaging books, colorful garden walks, and open-ended art exploration. Themes change monthly; year-round program.

Picturing New Connections

This is a small, welcoming program that combines sensory-rich and interactive guided discussions in Gari Melchers’ studio with a related art-making experience afterwards.

Beeping Egg Hunt

Since 2011, GMH&S has invited visually impaired or blind children and their families to participate in a Beeping Egg Hunt. This annual event is reminiscent of the Easter parties Corinne Melchers, with her husband’s encouragement, would host for local children each year at Belmont, complete with Punch and Judy shows, egg rolls, fanciful invitations, and plenty of favors.
