Field Trips

Youth groups are welcome at Gari Melchers Home & Studio!  The museum offers unique experiences for all kinds of groups and ages.  Art clubs, gifted programs, classrooms, home schoolers, and summer camps are encouraged to consider spending a morning or afternoon of learning, creativity, and fun at Belmont.

Preschool Palette

These thoughtfully curated classes celebrate the experience of discovery.  Preschool Palette nurtures your child’s creative spirit through engaging books, colorful garden walks, and open-ended art exploration. This year-round program features a new theme each month.

Picturing New Connections

Picturing New Connections—a small, welcoming program for people with memory loss and their families or care partners. These multi-sensory tours include guided discussion and exploration in the art galleries, followed by a hands-on art activity.

Beeping Egg Hunt

Since 2011, GMH&S has invited blind, visually impaired, and other children with disabilities and their families to participate in a Beeping Egg Hunt. Chirping eggs allow children to locate them using sound and touch, while sighted siblings are invited to wear blindfolds for a shared sensory experience. The event also features a miniature petting zoo, Touch-a-Tractor, snacks, resource tables, and sensory activities—ensuring a fun and accessible experience for everyone.
