Artists may work anywhere on the Grounds during normal business hours. To work indoors apply for permission with the Assistant Director/Curator at 540 654-1841 and check in at the Visitor Center Desk upon arrival and departure and for all subsequent returns.
Artists working outside must provide their own easel, chair, drop cloth, supplies and tools, staying at least 3 feet away from points of interest, such as sculptures and buildings. Choose locations that will not interrupt site access for other guests and programs. Only cleaning solvents safe for outside/inside disposal may be used and may not leave residue. All materials and equipment used by artists may never be left unattended and must be removed from the premises at the end of each working day. GMHS will not assume responsibility for the artists’ equipment while in use or if left behind.
