COVID-19

In response to the COVID 19 virus emergency, University of Mary Washington Museums will close to the general public effective Friday, March 13 until further notice. This closure includes all Museum-sponsored public programs. Specific details are as follows:

The historic home Belmont, studio/pavilion, and grounds are closed to the public. All public programs, including Preschool Palette, Picturing New Connections, Woodland Hikes, Beeping Egg Hunt, and the Spring Open House, are cancelled until further notice. 

The Stafford County Visitor Center, located at Gari Melchers Home and Studio, will also close effective Friday, March 13 until further notice. Visitors to Stafford County are encouraged to find additional information at https://www.tourstaffordva.com/.

The museum and garden are closed to the public. All public programs, including History Trivia, Preserving Family Legacies, and International Family Day, are cancelled until further notice. For more information, visit https://jamesmonroemuseum.org/.

University Museums will resume normal operations when conditions permit.
